WHEN SHOULD I GET MY TAN?

Here at Louisiana Glow we recommend all first-time sunless tanners receive their airbrush tan a few weeks before your event as a "trial run," to become familiar with the sunless tan process and color. When you book your appointment for the actual event, we would recommend one to two days prior.

How should I prepare for my sunless tan?

It is very important you exfoliate at least twice before your sunless tanning appointment to remove any dead or loose skin cells you may have. Resetting your skin's natural shedding cycle results in a longer lasting, fabulous tan!

What should I wear to/during my appointment?

Tight clothes can rub off or smear your tan. Please wear or bring loose fitting clothing and a pair of flip flops to wear after your session. If it is raining, bring a rain jacket and umbrella to protect your tan. Remember to show up to your appointment with your skin free of any lotions, perfumes, and deodorants! Whatever you leave on or take off during your spray tan session is completely up to you!

When can I shower?

For best results, please wait 24 hours after you receive your spray tan to use a sulfate and paraben free soap. However, you are able to do a warm water rinse after 6 hours for the original solution, or 2-4 for our rapid solution. For the rapid solution, rinsing in 2 hours would result in a light shade, 3 hours for a medium shade, and 4 hours for dark. FOR BEST RESULTS, Please do not leave the rapid solution on for more than 4 hours.

How long should my tan last?

If cared for properly and depending on your post-care regimen, your sunless tan should last you 7-10 days. Here are a few tips and tricks to help your tan stay longer and fade evenly. Wait at least 24 hours after your spray tan session to use soap, and for best results use a sulfate and paraben free soap during the entire duration of your tan, for sulfates and parabens act as stripping chemicals and may cause a premature fade. Exfoliating helps to remove your tan, so we recommend you avoid using exfoliants such as loofahs and washcloths during the duration of your tan, and remember to pat dry when drying off.

What can I expect for an appointment with Louisiana Glow?

Upon arrival, if you are early and the door is closed, this means we are currently in a spray tan session. We kindly ask that you wait in the hall or waiting room available until your appointment time. When your appointment time starts, we will conversate and all aspects of the sunless tan process will be thoroughly explained to you, along with the care instructions. During your sunless tan, it is up to you what clothing you leave on or take off.

Is it safe to get a sunless tan while pregnant?

Yes! It is safe to get a sunless tan while pregnant, but we recommend you consult with your doctor before scheduling your appointment.

CARING FOR YOUR SUNLESS TAN

Initially, you will see immediate color - this is just a bronzer that will give you instant gratification. DHA is the active ingredient in our sunless tanning spray that dyes your skin and it stops developing around 24 hours - so we ask that you refrain from using soap until then. However, you can do a warm water rinse after 6 hours from your appointment time.

Tips for your sunless tan
